Since 1999 more than 100 writers have made the trip to Vernon to enjoy the sun, the lake, and the company of other writers from across the country, and to present to an eager Okanagan audience the best contemporary writing out there today.
More than just a literary event, the Greenboathouse Reading Series has always been more of an exchange, a sequence of relaxed summer evenings after long afternoons on the dock, and an intimate conversation between writer and audience. This might explain why the series has taken a year off here and there; sometimes you just have to kick back and relax when you're in the Okanagan...
Held once again at Vernon's artist-run (and air-conditioned) Gallery Vertigo, and thanks to everyone who attended and to the readers for making the trip to the Okanagan, the 2005 series was another great success. While we took the year off in 2006, and this year has been chaos with the move from Victoria back to Vernon full-time, plans are brewing for a big come-back in 2008, so keep your eyes one this page for more info as it develops.
